3.    Software Discounts and Academic Prices
In the back-to-school season, many educational software providers sell software packages with site licenses or at steep discounts. Before buying anything at full price, contact them to learn about the latest discount promotion.

Sometimes although not regularly, some software title can be purchased at academic price. Visit their website and read the license definition. See if academic license is available.
